OOKL consists of two linked elements - the OOKL handset and the OOKL web-space.

Schools are provided with dedicated OOKL handsets which become a central resource in the ICT lab available to all classes. Pupils can download educational content to the device as well as create evidence in the form of images, sounds and text. It's like carrying around a digital encyclopedia, camera, audio recorder and pen all in one!

All of the material is instantly saved to each pupil's 'digital scrapbook' via the 3G network. Students return to the ICT lab (or home), edit what they collected, collaborate with their classmates and create multi-media presentations. Students can also export their content in the school's VLE or other applications.

The complete solution includes use of the digital scrapbook for all pupils in your school, 3G handsets with OOKL pre-installed and 1 Gb sim cards (effectively unlimited data).

OOKL has introduced a starter pack which includes 6 leased Nokia smart phones, sim card, mobile application and website/digital scrapbook all for £1300 for 12 months. The handsets can be used by an unlimited number of students within a school. There are no other hidden costs.

Green OOKL - what's that?
Now you can use OOKL without any hardware costs. OOKL works on a handful of Nokia mobiles so schools can grow their stock of OOKL handsets by encouraging parents to donate their handsets to the school.
